Juniors are important to Plum Creek Kennel Club

Plum Creek wants to encourage all juniors at our shows, in our club and within the fancy, because we know juniors are important to the sport of purebred dogs.

For anyone visiting our website that does not know about Junior Showmanship here's a little overview.  Juniors (ages 9 -17) show dogs in Junior Showmanship (against other youth).  They are evaluated on how well they show their dog based on the dog's breed.  It's broken into 3 age categories.  Junior (9-11), Intermediate (12-14) and Senior (15-17); plus within those 3 categories there are 2 classes - novice (meaning starting out and has not yet had 3 wins) and open (meaning has had 3 wins).  In addition any junior that secures 10 Best Junior wins (with competition) is to move up to the Masters Class.

More information on Junior Showmanship can be found on the AKC Website.
